Welcome

Music is a source of joy that can be appreciated by the very young to the very old.   Learning the piano is not restricted to children, and Alice encourages everyone, of all ages to take up the piano.

Playing the piano can give you and others great pleasure. The process of playing the piano can be very therapeutic and relaxing, particularly during busy and stressful times.

There are a number of teach yourself piano books on the market. However, if you are serious about learning the piano, then it is absolutely essential that you take lessons with a good piano teacher. If you tried to learn by yourself at home you risk picking up bad habits and poor playing techniques.

Piano Exams

Graded exams are most popularly taken with either the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music ABRSM, or the Trinity College London Trinity.

Free consultation

To ensure a good fit between me, the student and the parent/guardian, there will be a meeting before beginning lessons. This meeting will take place in a public setting, (eg. local coffee shop), where we can go over any concerns, policies and generally get to know one another.

The purpose of this consultation is to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable. It will also give us an opportunity to fill out a student info sheet and to go over any supplies (music books, etc.) the student may need. This will all serve to make things run smoothly during the first lesson, so we can get right to playing piano.

To get your free consultation click on the page above titled ‘new students’ to sign up for lessons now, or for further information email me at music@aliceletts.co.uk
